NO-JAM…HERE!
Have you ever been caught in a traffic jam? Leaving the stadium, the traffic backs up and you are detained for two hours. Going West on I-40, the moving barricade backs up traffic for miles and you are late arriving at your destination. Has this ever happened to you?
Well, Jesus tells us of a road where there is no traffic jam. Listen to Him, “The way is broad that leads to destruction and many there are who go that way. But narrow is the way which leads to life and few there are that find it.” Interesting words these. The way of least resistance, the way of no discipline, the way that is easy leads to destruction. This is why so many go this way, following the crowd and possessing no convictions. One can be swept along.
But the way that leads to life is one of commitment to the will and wisdom of the Lord. This narrow way strips us of all that would destroy us. It is the way of convictions and the ability to stand all the temptations and trials which so easily beset us. Indeed, there is no traffic jam here on this road, for few find it.
We are confronted with choices in life facing crossroads in our daily living and we decide which road we shall take.
“To every man there openeth
A way, and ways and a way;
And the high soul treads the high way”
And the low soul gropes the low;
And in between on the misty flat
The rest drift to and fro;
But to every man there openeth
A high way and a low
And every man decideth
The way his soul should go.”

Matthew 7:13&14, “Enter in at the straight gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many there be which go in thereat. Because straight is the gate and narrow is the way which leads unto life and few there be that find it.
